The White Sands Census Designated Place[1] (CDP) in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, United States, was designated by the United States Census Bureau by 1990[2] and in the Geographic Names Information System on March 11, 2008, by the USGS. The population was 1,323 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Las Cruces Metropolitan Statistical Area. See also White Sands Missile Range and White Sands National Monument.
